Clinical Trials

A clinical trial is a research study designed to test the safety and effectiveness of new treatments for cancer. Every cancer-fighting drug and therapy available to doctors today had to be tested in a clinical trial before it could be used routinely on patients. If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer, know that a clinical trial is an option to consider. The Center currently provides access to 85 cutting-edge cancer clinical trials and remains committed to investigating new ways of improving cancer care in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. Cancer patients work closely with our faculty and Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) to help them navigate through their unique cancer journey. The mission of our Center’s Clinical Trials Office (CTO) is to reduce the burden of cancer for the people of Hawaiʻi, the Pacific and globally by providing access to cutting-edge clinical trials.

Participate in a Clinical Trial

UH Cancer Center Clinical Trials are trials conducted by our local oncologists.  One does not have to be a cancer patient to participate.  Please see available clinical trials below and contact the study coordinators for any questions or if you are interested in participating.

Please consult with your physician before you decide to participate in a clinical trial.  There are many factors to consider before you enroll.
